Baku, August 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: On August 16, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, to review bilateral relations and regional developments.
During the call, Foreign Minister Sybiha congratulated Azerbaijan on the agreements reached during President Ilham Aliyev’s recent visit to the United States, as well as on the progress made in the Azerbaijan-Armenia reconciliation process.
The two ministers discussed ongoing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in political, economic, energy, transport, and humanitarian fields. Both sides underlined the importance of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in further strengthening bilateral ties.
Minister Sybiha expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s humanitarian support to Ukraine, particularly its contributions to restoration and reconstruction efforts in conflict-affected regions. He also briefed his Azerbaijani counterpart on the negotiation process related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The ministers additionally exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
