Sevilla FC Signs Young Moroccan Goalkeeper Rayan Azouagh

Moroccan

Rabat, August 17, 2025 – The Europe Today: Spanish club Sevilla FC has officially announced the signing of Moroccan goalkeeper Rayan Azouagh, formerly of Ittihad Tanger, marking the 18-year-old’s first professional experience abroad.

The club confirmed the transfer on Friday, noting that Azouagh will join Sevilla’s reserve team for the 2025–2026 season. “Young goalkeeper Rayan Azouagh strengthens the youth academy’s goalkeeping department at Sevilla FC,” the statement read.

According to Spanish newspaper AS, Azouagh has signed a three-year contract with the Andalusian side. His move has drawn comparisons to fellow Moroccan international Yassine Bounou, who also began his career in Spain at a young age before establishing himself as one of La Liga’s top goalkeepers and securing two UEFA Europa League titles with Sevilla. Football observers have already highlighted Azouagh’s potential to follow a similar path.

Ittihad Tanger recently confirmed Azouagh’s departure, extending best wishes for his success in Europe. The Moroccan club praised his standout performances last season, particularly in key matches against AS FAR (1-1), Wydad AC (2-2) in the league, and Stade Marocain in the Coupe de l’Excellence.

Widely regarded as a promising talent, Azouagh has already demonstrated strong goalkeeping skills, and many believe his move to Sevilla could serve as a launching pad for a successful European career.
