Astana, August 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram of condolences to Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif over the loss of lives caused by devastating floods and heavy rains in the country, the Akorda press service reported.
In his message, President Tokayev expressed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families and conveyed wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured in the disaster.
The tragedy comes as rescuers continue efforts to recover bodies from debris after flash floods triggered by monsoon rains swept across northern Pakistan. Authorities confirmed that at least 321 people were killed in the past 48 hours.
