Tajikistan’s Munira Abdusalomova Enters Top 25 of World Taekwon-Do Ranking

Dushanbe, August 20, 2025 – The Europe Today: The World Taekwon-Do Federation (WT) has released its updated world ranking, with several Tajik athletes securing positions among the strongest competitors on the global stage.

A major highlight is Munira Abdusalomova’s entry into the top 25 of the women’s +67 kg weight category. Ranked 23rd with 42.24 points, Abdusalomova is now considered one of Tajikistan’s most promising athletes ahead of international competitions, including upcoming Olympic qualification tournaments.

In the 49 kg women’s category, Shirinmokhi Mirshakarzoda holds the 324th position with 3.60 points. While still building her international experience, experts believe her participation in G-2 and G-4 tournaments could significantly raise her standing.

The men’s national team has also shown progress. Loikjoni Shukhratzod ranks 410th in the 58 kg category with 3.60 points, while Loik Davlatzoda and Farrukh Pahlavonov share the 531st position in the 68 kg category with 2.16 points each.

The WT ranking system is divided into world and Olympic categories. Points are awarded based on performance in international tournaments, with higher placements and competition levels yielding greater scores. For Tajikistan, participation in major events—particularly at the G-4 level and above—is seen as crucial to climbing the rankings.

Officials emphasize that strong performances on the international stage will not only boost Tajik athletes’ chances of securing Olympic licenses but also enhance the global recognition of Tajik taekwon-do.
