Minsk, August 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Wednesday that Tehran places no limits on expanding relations with Belarus, underscoring the importance of greater cooperation to counter unilateralism and its “destructive consequences.”
Speaking at a joint press conference with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during his official visit to Minsk, Pezeshkian described bilateral relations as being pursued “at the highest possible level.” He said the trip marked “a turning point” in the partnership, adding that the positive outcomes would be reflected in the future growth of cooperation.
Calling Belarus “an important country in the strategic Eurasia region and a reliable partner for the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Pezeshkian reiterated Iran’s commitment to implementing the comprehensive roadmap for cooperation with Belarus covering 2023–2026.
The Iranian president pointed to the recent meeting of the Iran-Belarus joint economic commission in Minsk, noting that documents signed during his visit—spanning economic, cultural, and legal spheres—would further consolidate bilateral cooperation.
He highlighted opportunities to deepen collaboration in various fields, including customs, joint investment, expansion of cargo and passenger transit, and addressing challenges faced by the private sector.
“We hope, with joint efforts, to see tangible results in expanding and strengthening the volume of trade between the two countries,” Pezeshkian said.
