Tashkent, August 21, 2025 — The Europe Today: Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, during which both sides emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral ties.
Mirziyoyeva conveyed gratitude to the Kyrgyz leader for the warm welcome and the constructive dialogue, which took place in an open and trusting atmosphere. She highlighted that the peoples of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are united by a shared aspiration for development and prosperity, founded on mutual respect and trust.
It was underlined that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attaches particular importance to enhancing relations with Kyrgyzstan as a close neighbor and strategic partner. A clear reflection of this partnership is seen in the agreements reached on border issues, the mutual recognition of national ID cards, the establishment of joint ventures, and the implementation of major regional projects, including the construction of the Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant and the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway.
The meeting also noted the successful organization of the “Zakovat” intellectual tournaments in both countries, which play a significant role in strengthening people-to-people ties and fostering active youth engagement.
“Our countries are united by brotherly and good-neighborly relations that have developed over centuries. We value these ties and will continue to strengthen them,” Mirziyoyeva stated.
