Turkmenistan Embassy in Islamabad Hosts Discussion on Implementing LLDC3 Decisions in the Region

Islamabad, August 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: A high-level round table discussion was held today at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad, focusing on the implementation of the outcomes of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).

The event brought together the Ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to Pakistan. Participants commended the outcomes of the UN-led conference, which sought to promote coordinated strategies to address the challenges faced by landlocked developing countries (LLDCs).

During the discussions, particular emphasis was placed on enhancing regional transport and energy connectivity, expanding transit capacities, and advancing large-scale infrastructure projects. The ambassadors highlighted the critical importance of regional integration, economic digitalization, and innovation as drivers of sustainable development across LLDCs.

The round table also stressed that the effective implementation of LLDC3 decisions would require active collaboration with transit countries and international financial institutions. In concluding remarks, the ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to continued close cooperation, including organizing joint initiatives aimed at translating LLDC3 outcomes into concrete regional actions.
