Baku, August 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: AnewZ is a global media channel broadcasting from Azerbaijan released a new large-scale documentary dedicated to China’s Belt and Road Initiative and the rising role of the Middle Corridor in reshaping international connectivity.
The AnewZ film crew visited four cities, including Xi’an — the birthplace of the ancient Silk Road and today the symbolic gateway of China’s westward trade. The documentary highlights China’s strategic vision in the global economy and underscores the growing importance of Azerbaijan as a transport and energy hub connecting East and West.
Author of the film, journalist Anastasia Lavrina, emphasized that during interviews and meetings in China, the role of Azerbaijan was repeatedly highlighted as central to the success of the Middle Corridor:
“This project goes beyond roads and railways. It is about geopolitics, shifting alliances, and the transformation of global trade. In China, the importance of Azerbaijan is recognized as a cornerstone for linking Asia with Europe,” she said.
She also stressed that the film is not only about infrastructure and strategy, but also about values and people:
“Through this journey, we wanted to capture the voices, aspirations, and ideas that stand behind the Belt and Road. It is about a shared vision of cooperation shaping a new global reality — and Azerbaijan stands right at the heart of it,” Lavrina noted.
The documentary allows viewers to witness how China’s global vision and the Middle Corridor are redefining the future of diplomacy, trade, and international partnerships — placing Azerbaijan at the center of this historic transformation.
