Ashgabat, September 01, 2025 – The Europe Today: As we reported earlier, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived in the city of Tianjin, People’s Republic of China, on a four-day working visit to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and in ceremonies dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory.

Ahead of the visit of the Turkmen delegation led by the Head of State, an article by the President of Turkmenistan dedicated to Turkmen-Chinese cooperation was published in China’s high-circulation newspapers.

The article by the President of Turkmenistan, entitled “Turkmenistan–China: Along the Path of Strengthening Friendship and Cooperation”, aroused great interest among Chinese readers. It was published in the People’s Daily newspaper.

Expressing gratitude to the Chinese newspaper for the initiative to publish the article on the eve of the Turkmen delegation’s visit to China, the President emphasized that addressing an audience of millions would create an opportunity to study the partnership between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China in greater depth.

“For 30 years now, Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China have been developing bilateral relations as independent states. In this historically short period, a long path of creative development has been traveled. Effective political, trade, economic, and humanitarian relations have been established. Regular contacts between the leaders of the two countries have been ensured. A solid legal foundation for cooperation has been created,” – the article by the President of Turkmenistan notes.

The article also highlights that in 2013, in Ashgabat, a Joint Declaration on establishing a strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China was signed; in May 2014, a Joint Declaration on the development and deepening of strategic partnership relations was adopted; as well as other important documents, which together laid the firm legal basis for cooperation between the two countries.

It is emphasized that over the past period, a strong foundation of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries has been built, and that regional cooperation is being strengthened within such formats as “Central Asia–China.”

In addition, the article notes that effective cooperation has also been established between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China in trade and economy, transport and logistics, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

“Today, Turkmenistan and China are true friends, reliable partners, and like-minded states in addressing the most important issues of the development of their countries and of all humankind. I firmly believe that all the tasks set jointly will be successfully fulfilled,” – the article by the President of Turkmenistan concludes.
