President Berdimuhamedov Attends Informal Events of SCO Summit in Tianjin

Tianjin, September 01, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Sunday participated in informal events held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China.

The gathering brought together heads of state and government from SCO member countries and partner nations, including Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh.

Leaders of Egypt, Cambodia, Nepal, and Armenia also attended, alongside United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan. Ahead of the program, President Xi Jinping and his wife formally welcomed the distinguished foreign guests.

The summit concluded with a concert program dedicated to the Tianjin meeting of the SCO, highlighting the cultural dimension of the event.

President Berdimuhamedov arrived in Tianjin to take part in the SCO summit as well as commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, underscoring Turkmenistan’s support for multilateral cooperation and shared historical remembrance.
