Tianjin, September 02, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Masoud Pezeshkian has underlined the steady expansion of cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan across multiple sectors, while emphasizing the importance of safeguarding and transmitting the two nations’ shared cultural heritage to future generations.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon on Monday, held on the sidelines of the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
President Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction over the frequency of meetings and exchanges between officials of the two countries, noting that such interactions have further strengthened the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between the culturally connected nations. He highlighted recent progress in areas such as transit, trade, tourism, science, and people-to-people exchanges as signs of positive momentum in bilateral ties.
Turning to the situation in Gaza, the Iranian president condemned what he described as the Israeli regime’s ongoing atrocities, accusing the United States of enabling the aggression. He urged Islamic countries, as well as international and regional organizations, to take all possible steps to halt the violence.
For his part, President Rahmon expressed his strong interest in further deepening relations with Iran, particularly in the fields of economy, investment, and culture. He strongly condemned the June military aggression by Israel and the United States against Iran and commended Iran’s historical, cultural, scientific, and civilizational contributions. Rahmon also underscored the constructive cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe at bilateral, regional, and international levels.
