Bled, September 03, 2025 – The Europe Today: On September 1–2, 2025, a delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Myahri Byashimova took part in the anniversary edition of the Bled Strategic Forum, a leading international discussion platform. The Turkmen delegation attended the official opening ceremony and engaged in key sessions of the forum.

As part of the program, Deputy Minister Byashimova delivered remarks at the round table “The Centrality of Central Asia”, which focused on the prospects and priorities of cooperation between the European Union and Central Asian states. In her address, she highlighted the importance of Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality as an instrument of trust and dialogue, as well as the country’s active role in promoting transport and energy connectivity across Eurasia. Particular emphasis was placed on Turkmenistan’s participation in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor and its support for green energy initiatives.

During the visit, bilateral meetings were also held between Deputy Minister Byashimova and Slovenian officials, including Dr. Melita Gabrič, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Cooperation, Political Affairs and Development, and Damjan Bergant, Adviser to the President of Slovenia on Foreign Policy.

The discussions covered a wide range of issues, including strengthening contacts at the highest level, expanding trade and economic cooperation, advancing ties in education, and preparing for the next round of political consultations in Ljubljana. Both sides underscored the significant potential for expanding cooperation in energy, transport, education, and cultural exchanges.

The parties also confirmed their readiness to actively cooperate within international organizations, including the United Nations, and to deepen engagement within the framework of the EU–Central Asia regional partnership. Special attention was given to promoting events with the participation of business circles from both countries.

Deputy Minister Byashimova extended an invitation for Slovenia to take part in the upcoming International Forum for Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025.
