Beijing, September 04, 2025 – The Europe Today: China has reiterated that it places the highest importance on its relations with Iran and is ready to enhance bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, according to remarks by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning.
“China always places its relations with Iran high on its diplomatic agenda in the Middle East. China stands ready to work with Iran to carry forward the friendship, deepen mutual trust, and strengthen cooperation in various areas,” Mao Ning stated on Tuesday in a post on her official X account.
Her comments came shortly after Chinese President Xi Jinping hosted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for bilateral talks in Beijing during the latter’s four-day visit to China.
Mao emphasized that the China–Iran relationship has “stood the test of changes in the world” and continues to enjoy steady and healthy development. She further underlined Beijing’s commitment to supporting a resolution to Iran’s nuclear issue.
“China will continue to uphold justice, work for a solution to the Iranian nuclear issue that accommodates the legitimate concerns of all parties, and make continued efforts for realizing lasting peace in the Middle East,” she said.
President Pezeshkian, who led a high-ranking delegation, concluded his official visit to China on Wednesday morning. His program included participation in the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Heads of State Summit and the SCO Plus meeting in Tianjin, in addition to his talks with Chinese leaders.
