Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Meets Chinese Business Delegation in Beijing

Beijing, September 04, 2025 – The Europe Today: On September 4, 2025, Mr. David Chu, CEO of Precise Development (HK) Limited, China, along with representatives of leading Chinese maritime companies and Tianjin port authorities, held a productive meeting with H.E. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan, on the sidelines of the Pakistan-China Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference at Beijing, China. The forum set future targets for strengthening industrial and investment partnerships between the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by Zhou Ji, Deputy Director of the New Economy Promotion Bureau, Tianjin Dongjiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone, Wang Lun, Chief of the Service Innovation Section, New Economy Promotion Bureau, Tianjin Dongjiang Comprehensive Free Trade Zone. Zheng Yongchao, Head of Business Department at Jincheng Bank.

During the discussions, both explored multiple areas of potential cooperation in the maritime sector. A particular focus was placed on the establishment of modern shipbuilding and repair facilities at Pakistan’s major ports to enhance maritime infrastructure and service capabilities. The Chinese companies also expressed strong interest in investing in Pakistan’s maritime fisheries sector and in the further development of Gwadar Port.

H.E. Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs of Pakistan, welcomed Chinese businessmen to invest in Pakistan. He highlighted that Pakistan is an investment-friendly country and that there are many opportunities for Chinese businessmen to explore. The Minister emphasized that Pakistan and China enjoy deep-rooted relations, and strengthening economic cooperation will further enhance this partnership. He assured the businessmen of full support from the Government of Pakistan in facilitating trade and investment ventures.

The talks further covered plans for developing specialized industrial zones near port areas, designed to facilitate export-oriented manufacturing by leveraging strategic port access. Additionally, the discussions highlighted comprehensive technology transfer programs, including advanced port management systems, modern ship design capabilities, and other critical maritime technologies, aimed at fostering long-term capacity building in Pakistan.
