Rabat, September 04, 2025 – The Europe Today: Morocco has been ranked among the most popular winter destinations for British travelers seeking warm-weather holidays, according to new insights released by Away Holidays.
Citing the data, Travelmole reported that Morocco, alongside the Maldives, Thailand, and Dubai, is topping the list of most-booked winter getaways for the 2025-2026 season. The findings show that British tourists are increasingly booking stays of six to seven nights, with January emerging as a peak travel month.
The product director at Away Holidays noted that January is “becoming the new July for a growing number of British travelers,” adding that Morocco offers an “enticing mix of culture, adventure and sunshine in winter.” Marrakesh and Agadir were highlighted as leading destinations, with January temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius, allowing visitors to enjoy souks, desert landscapes, and coastal resorts.
Morocco’s tourism industry continues to post robust growth. As of July 2025, the country welcomed 11.6 million visitors, a 16% increase compared to the same period last year. The Ministry of Tourism said nearly half of arrivals came from Moroccans residing abroad, which contributed significantly to the surge.
Tourism revenues also showed strong momentum, generating MAD 67 billion ($6.7 billion) in the first seven months of 2025, marking a 13% rise compared to the same period in 2024. In July alone, receipts reached MAD 13 billion ($1.3 billion), up 26% year-on-year, with 2.7 million arrivals, including 1.8 million diaspora visitors.
In 2024, Morocco recorded over 17.3 million tourist arrivals, and the government has set a target of attracting 26 million visitors by 2030.
