Islamabad, September 04, 2025 – The Europe Today: Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, H.E. Dan Stoenescu, held a meeting on Wednesday with Pakistan’s Minister of Defence and Defence Production, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and addressing regional and global security challenges.
Ambassador Stoenescu underlined that Pakistan is an important partner for Romania in South Asia, noting that both sides are committed to further developing their relationship in ways that contribute to regional and international stability.
The talks provided an opportunity to exchange views on the political and security situation in the region, with a particular focus on Afghanistan.
Addressing the ongoing crisis in Eastern Europe, the Romanian envoy reaffirmed his country’s position on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, stressing that Romania fully supports a resolution based on respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
Both sides expressed readiness to enhance dialogue and cooperation across defence and security domains while working together to promote peace and stability at both regional and global levels.
