Russian Deputy PM Hails Positive Economic Relations with Azerbaijan at Eastern Economic Forum

Moscow, September 04, 2025 – The Europe Today: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has praised the steady development of economic relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, noting that the two countries maintain constant contacts and active cooperation.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 10th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, held from September 3 to 6, Overchuk highlighted that Moscow and Baku have been closely engaged in mutual initiatives, including during the recent SCO Summit in China.

“The relations between the two countries are developing economically as projected,” Overchuk stated.

The deputy premier also commented on the recent agreement initialed between Azerbaijan and Armenia, expressing Russia’s “cautious optimism” regarding its prospects. He described the accord as a significant step towards strengthening peace and stability in the Eurasian region.

The Eastern Economic Forum, which convenes international leaders, policymakers, and business representatives, continues to serve as a key platform for discussing economic cooperation and regional development strategies.
