Pakistan

Islamabad, September 6, 2025 – The Europe Today: The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is being celebrated with great religious fervor and devotion across Pakistan, with both federal and provincial governments declaring a public holiday on the occasion.

According to Express News, streets, neighborhoods, and marketplaces in cities nationwide have been illuminated with decorative lights, electric lamps, and green flags. Government and private buildings are adorned with festive lighting, while arches and ornamental gates have been installed at various bazaars and main roads. Mosques have also been decorated with lights, and gatherings of naat recitations and prayers are being held, with the atmosphere filled with the reverberation of blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ.

Food distribution arrangements have also been made in several areas, while police and law enforcement agencies have put in place foolproof security measures for 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.

Prime Minister’s Message

On this auspicious occasion, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said in his message that the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ 1,500 years ago in Makkah illuminated the world with light after darkness, guiding humanity toward justice, mercy, equality, and unity. He added that this year, Pakistan, along with the Muslim world, is observing the “Year of Mercy to the Worlds ﷺ.”

He noted that resolutions passed in the National Assembly and Senate demonstrate the nation’s commitment to honoring the Prophet ﷺ by making his teachings an integral part of the Constitution, laws, and collective life.

“The life of the Prophet ﷺ is a complete and universal model for all aspects of human existence—governance, justice, economy, trade, and social values. The Qur’an explicitly tells us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is the best example for those who hope for Allah and the Last Day,” the Prime Minister stated.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that in today’s fast-changing world, where technology has reduced distances, it is essential to acquaint the younger generation with the Prophet’s ﷺ teachings of knowledge, peace, and morality. He urged parents and institutions to encourage youth to embrace the timeless values of ethics, compassion, and brotherhood taught by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

He further stressed the need to reject all forms of prejudice, sectarianism, extremism, and hatred, and instead foster brotherhood, sacrifice, and unity. “Pakistan’s economic and social challenges can only be addressed through the practical adoption of the Prophet’s ﷺ teachings in our national character,” he said.

Calling for renewed commitment, the Prime Minister urged the nation to build Pakistan on the golden principles of the Prophet’s ﷺ life, with policies aimed at equality, poverty alleviation, and the promotion of knowledge and research, so that Pakistan may truly become an Islamic welfare state.

He concluded his message with prayers for Pakistan’s safety, unity, and strength, and for the nation to live in love and obedience of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
