Rp4.1 Billion Allocated for Revitalization of Eight Schools in Penajam Paser Utara

Penajam Paser Utara

Penajam, September 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has allocated Rp4.1 billion to support the revitalization of eight schools in Penajam Paser Utara district, East Kalimantan.

According to Ricci Firmansyah, Head of Facilities and Infrastructure at the district’s Education, Youth, and Sports Office, the funding aims to enhance the quality of educational infrastructure. “This will create a more comfortable and safe learning environment for students,” he said on Saturday.

The assistance covers five elementary schools (SD), two junior high schools (SMP), and one kindergarten or early childhood education institution (TK/PAUD). The program is part of a broader national initiative to repair and upgrade educational facilities that have sustained moderate to severe damage.

School selection was based on verified data from the Basic Education Data system, combined with on-site assessments by the ministry’s technical team. The funding will be used for rehabilitation and revitalization projects, including classrooms, teachers’ lounges, laboratories, libraries, restrooms, and school health units (UKS).

Each beneficiary school will manage the funds independently, acting as the implementing body for goods and services procurement. To ensure effective execution, every school has established an education unit development committee (P2SP) and a technical team to oversee project planning and implementation.
