Baku, September 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Azerbaijan women’s basketball team has made history by advancing to the final of the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup, held in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In the group stage, Azerbaijan delivered an impressive performance, defeating France 21–16 and Ukraine 21–14 to qualify for the quarterfinals as group leaders. The momentum continued in the knockout rounds, where the team edged past Poland 16–13 in the quarterfinals before overcoming reigning European champions Spain 21–17 in the semifinals.
The victory over Spain secured Azerbaijan’s first-ever appearance in the final of a FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup, marking a milestone achievement in the country’s basketball history.
Azerbaijan will face the Netherlands in the championship match.
