Astana, September 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan endured a heavy 0-6 loss to Belgium in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, according to media reports.
From the opening minutes, Belgium asserted dominance and controlled possession. By halftime, the visitors led 2-0 with goals from midfielder Kevin De Bruyne and forward Jérémy Doku, both scored late in the first half.
In the second half, 16-year-old striker Dastan Satpayev of Almaty’s Kairat, recently recognized as one of the most prolific young talents of 2025, was introduced for Kazakhstan. His entry, however, did little to stem Belgium’s momentum. Nicolas Raskin added a third goal, followed by a second strike from Doku, who found the bottom right corner after breaking through on the left wing.
Belgium sealed the victory with two late goals — De Bruyne in the 84th minute and defender Thomas Meunier in the 87th.
With this result, Kazakhstan remain fourth in Group J, collecting three points from five matches. Belgium move to second place with 10 points.
