Tehran, September 11, 2025 — The Europe Today: Chairman of the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi has declared that the Iranian government, nation, and armed forces will stand firmly by Qatar in the face of recent Israeli aggression.
Major General Mousavi made the remarks on Thursday in a phone conversation with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The statement came after Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on Doha on Tuesday, reportedly targeting a meeting of Hamas leaders who had gathered to discuss the latest U.S. ceasefire proposal for Gaza.
Mousavi strongly condemned the Israeli regime’s attack on Qatari soil, stressing that the Iranian military will not hesitate to defend Qatar, highlighting the deep brotherly ties between the two nations. He described Israel as a “criminal regime” and the primary source of tension and instability in the region, while warning that Iran would not abandon Qatar in the face of such hostilities.
He further underlined that the United States’ unconditional support for Israel’s occupation, suppression, and killing of Palestinians has emboldened Tel Aviv to carry out such acts. According to him, the strike on Qatar could not have been conducted without Washington’s approval. Mousavi added that Israel’s survival would not be possible without direct and indirect Western support.
Concluding his remarks, the Iranian commander congratulated Al Thani on the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
For his part, Al Thani thanked Iran for its solidarity, stressing that the Israeli regime disregards all international norms, principles, and diplomatic protocols. He denounced the assault as a violation of red lines and described it as a deliberate attempt to undermine Qatar’s efforts to facilitate peace talks on Gaza.
