Ashgabat, September 14, 2025 — The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Serdar Berdimuhamedov, participated in the official opening ceremony of a newly constructed border guard complex of the State Border Service in Sarahs on Friday, Turkmen state media reported.
The modern complex includes a main administrative building, a parade ground, a 300-seat cultural center, a barracks for servicemen, a sports and wellness center, and a fully equipped dining facility. Additionally, residential buildings for 144 families of military personnel have been built, complete with all essential amenities.
Outfitted with advanced technologies and digital systems, the facility ensures round-the-clock monitoring along the national border, further reinforcing the material and technical base of the National Army while improving the living conditions of servicemen and their families.
During the visit, President Berdimuhamedov toured the residential housing, barracks, canteen, retail outlet, and a modern medical center. He also paid special attention to the recreational and sports areas designed for the well-being of service members’ families and children.
While inspecting military equipment, the President highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to continuously strengthening the material and technical capacity of its armed forces and law enforcement agencies. He also underlined the importance of enhancing the professional skills of military personnel, particularly young soldiers and officers tasked with operating advanced hardware.
The commissioning of the new Sarahs border guard complex, dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, was described as a symbolic and valuable gift to the country’s border service members.
