Tehran, September 16, 2025 — The Europe Today: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike in Doha, describing it as a “blatant act of terrorism” and a violation of international norms, while warning that no country in the region will remain secure unless they unite to confront the occupying regime.
The Iranian president made the remarks while addressing an emergency meeting of Arab and Islamic countries in Doha, convened in response to Israel’s strike targeting Hamas leaders in the Qatari capital on September 9.
Pezeshkian stressed that the attack was aimed at derailing diplomatic efforts to end the war in Gaza, which has claimed the lives of at least 64,900 Palestinians since October 2023. “This attack on diplomacy is more than a crime; it is a brazen and practical declaration that military power now prevails over law,” he said.
Qatar, which has played a key mediating role in ceasefire negotiations, was hosting a senior Hamas delegation when Israeli warplanes struck their office. The Iranian leader accused Israel of deliberately sabotaging the peace process.
Pezeshkian further warned that Israel’s aggression is emboldened by Western backing. “History will remember the crime of supporters of this aggression,” he noted, adding that the Zionist regime seeks to undermine sovereignty and stability across the Muslim world.
The president recalled Israel’s surprise attack on Iran in June, which triggered 12 days of conflict before a US-brokered ceasefire took effect. “Unfortunately, the terrorists ruling Tel Aviv have grown more emboldened by the impunity they felt after a similar betrayal of diplomacy,” he said.
Highlighting a pattern of repeated strikes across Muslim countries, Pezeshkian criticized what he called Western “double-speak” that justifies Israeli aggression under the guise of self-defense. He called on Arab and Islamic nations to stand united in resisting further violations.
