New York, September 21, 2025 — The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York at 4:50 p.m. local time on Saturday, marking the beginning of his official visit to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The President was accompanied by his son Didit Hediprasetyo, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Upon arrival, President Prabowo was received by Indonesia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Umar Hadi, and the Military Adviser to the Indonesian Permanent Mission, Brigadier General Felix Lumban Tobing. He then proceeded to his hotel in Manhattan, where he was welcomed by members of the Indonesian diaspora, including students, community representatives, and officials from the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) in New York, the Permanent Mission to the UN (PTRI), and the Embassy in Washington, D.C.
Ahead of the President’s visit, several senior Indonesian officials had already arrived in New York, among them Ambassador to the United States Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and Minister for Investment and Downstream Rosan Perkasa Roeslani. Also present were Chief Investment Officer Danantara Pandu Sjahrir, Presidential Special Envoy for Climate and Energy Hashim Djojohadikusumo, and Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie.
During his stay, President Prabowo is scheduled to deliver Indonesia’s address at the General Debate of the UNGA and hold a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders. His participation in the high-level forum highlights Indonesia’s commitment to promoting peace, strengthening multilateral cooperation, and advancing national interests on the global stage.
