Turkmen Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Deputy Secretary of State in New York to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

New York, September 23, 2025 — The Europe Today: Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov, held a meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The two sides reviewed the current state of Turkmenistan–U.S. relations and discussed prospects for strengthening cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, investment, and technology.

Special attention was given to the role of the Turkmen-American Business Council in promoting commercial partnerships and enhancing the participation of leading U.S. companies in Turkmenistan’s market. The parties also exchanged views on a range of international and regional issues of mutual interest.

The meeting follows earlier high-level contacts, including Rashid Meredov’s discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington on August 20, 2025.
