New York, September 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: On the margins of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Prime Minister of Belgium Bart De Wever, the Akorda press service reported.
President Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to fostering long-term cooperation with Belgium, describing it as one of the country’s key partners within the European Union. He noted that Brussels is among the top ten largest investors in Kazakhstan, with bilateral trade volume approaching half a billion US dollars last year.
During the talks, the two sides discussed prospects for expanding economic ties, particularly in critical sectors such as critical minerals, petrochemistry, agriculture, industry, transport and logistics, artificial intelligence, finance, tourism, and education.
Prime Minister De Wever expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to exchange views on the bilateral agenda and conveyed warm regards and best wishes from King Philippe of Belgium to President Tokayev.
