New York, September 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres held a meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General expressed appreciation to Turkmenistan for hosting the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, underscoring its importance for advancing sustainable development and regional cooperation.
The two sides also discussed Turkmenistan’s initiatives to promote international peace and trust. The Secretary-General welcomed these efforts and conveyed gratitude for Turkmenistan’s active support of the UN 80 Initiative and the Pact for the Future, highlighting their significance for strengthening multilateralism and collective global action.
