Baku, October 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, held a meeting with Sue Lines, President of the Senate of Australia, on the sidelines of the 11th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20) in Cape Town.
During the meeting, both sides underscored the importance of international parliamentary platforms such as the P20 Summit in fostering dialogue on bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The two leaders exchanged views on enhancing ties between Azerbaijan and Australia, noting that despite geographical distance, the countries enjoy friendly relations. They emphasized that the existing political ties create favorable conditions for deepening inter-parliamentary contacts.
Both sides welcomed the positive role of parliamentary interaction in strengthening overall cooperation between the two countries and also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
