Ashgabat, October 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: Trade cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation is advancing to a new, more practical level, with both sides emphasizing the importance of strategic dialogue and operational efficiency. A working meeting was recently held at the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation to discuss measures for improving customs administration and the declaration of textiles, a key export product of Turkmenistan.
The meeting brought together representatives of the FCS and importing companies directly involved with high-quality Turkmen textiles. Discussions highlighted the strategic significance of Turkmen textiles for the Russian market and reaffirmed the shared commitment of both parties to simplify trade operations.
Following the meeting, specific steps were agreed upon to optimize imports. A primary focus will be on actively engaging businesses in the process: representatives of importing companies will soon submit detailed proposals to the Federal Customs Service aimed at enhancing customs clearance practices.
These proposals will be thoroughly analyzed and integrated into future cooperation between the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan. This approach reflects a high level of constructive dialogue and underscores the commitment of both customs services to removing potential barriers.
By actively engaging importers, the two countries aim to create favorable and transparent conditions that ensure the stable and long-term presence of Turkmen products in the Russian market.
