Peshawar, October 6, 2025 – The Europe Today: The historic city of Peshawar served as the venue for the “Peshawar Annual Ambassadorial Retreat – Romania–EU+” held on 4–5 October, bringing together ambassadors from European Union (EU) member states and non-EU missions for a weekend of diplomacy, dialogue, and cultural exchange.
Organized by the Embassy of Romania with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, the retreat provided an opportunity to strengthen friendship and cooperation among the diplomatic community in a relaxed and collegial setting.
Participants engaged in constructive discussions on regional and global developments, sharing ideas and perspectives in an atmosphere of openness and camaraderie.
Hosted in one of South Asia’s oldest and most storied cities, the retreat also allowed attendees to experience Peshawar’s rich cultural heritage, from its centuries-old architecture and bustling bazaars to the renowned warmth of Pashtun hospitality.
The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Faisal Karim Kundi, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whose participation and remarks underscored the importance of international friendship and cooperation. His words of welcome were warmly received, highlighting the enduring ties between Romania, the European Union, and Pakistan’s diplomatic community.
The Embassy of Romania extended sincere appreciation to the Honorary Consulate of Romania in Peshawar for its generous support, and to the Peshawar Barracks Heritage Hotel for hosting the delegates in a venue that beautifully embodies the city’s historical and cultural legacy.
