Islamabad, October 7, 2025 – The Europe Today: On 6th October 2025, a distinguished group of Chinese scholars visited Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, arranged by Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future (PRCCSF). The scholars were warmly welcomed by Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (SI), Vice Chancellor of Quaid-i-Azam University.
The visiting scholars included:
- HUANG Yunsong, Professor & Associate Dean, School of International Studies, Deputy Director, Institute of South Asian Studies, Sichuan University
- WANG Zhen, Research Professor & Deputy Director, Institute of International Studies, Shanghai Academy of Social Science (SASS)
- ZHANG Jiegen, Associate Professor & Director, Pakistan Study Centre, Fudan University
- XIE Chao, Associate Professor, Centre for South Asian Studies, Fudan University
- MA Zheng, Special Associate Research Fellow, School of International Relations, Sun Yat-sen University
During their visit, the scholars engaged in meaningful academic exchanges and discussions with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar (SI) regarding collaborative opportunities aimed at enhancing research and educational partnerships between Quaid-i-Azam University and various Chinese institutions. These discussions focused on strengthening educational ties, promoting research cooperation, and enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations.
Both the visiting scholars and Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) faculty expressed enthusiasm for the potential of future collaboration, emphasizing the importance of international partnerships in addressing global challenges and fostering cultural exchange.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General, National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan, who also introduced about his institution to the visiting Chinese Scholars and also presented Urdu-Chinese dictionary to them.
