Ashgabat, October 9, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular online meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday, during which a number of key issues pertaining to the state life and national development of Turkmenistan were discussed.
At the outset, Chairwoman of the Mejlis (Parliament) Dunyagozel Gulmanova presented a report on the ongoing efforts to further improve the national legislative framework. She informed that comprehensive work is being carried out on the development of bills aimed at protecting the rights, freedoms, and lawful interests of citizens, as well as promoting the political, economic, and cultural progress of the country. The new legislation also focuses on enhancing the living standards of the people and ensuring legal support for Turkmenistan’s international initiatives.
Gulmanova noted that in accordance with the current realities, relevant amendments and additions are being made to existing laws.
During the session, the Chairwoman of the Mejlis also read out the Resolution of the Mejlis conferring the honorary title “Türkmenistanyň at gazanan arhitektory” (Honoured Architect of Turkmenistan) upon President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the nation’s urban development and modernization.
Following the Cabinet meeting, a solemn ceremony was held to mark the conferment of the honorary title upon the President. The event was attended by the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, and heads of military and law enforcement bodies.
Participants of the ceremony warmly congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on being awarded the honorary title, as well as on the Day of Workers of Public Health Services and the Medical Industry, extending their heartfelt wishes for continued success and national prosperity.
Speakers highlighted that in the Era of Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, the comprehensive urban development program for Ashgabat—initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov—is being successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
In recent years, Ashgabat has witnessed the realization of a series of unique architectural and infrastructural projects shaping its modern image, alongside the ongoing modernization of the national healthcare system. Particular emphasis is placed on the construction of advanced medical facilities across both the capital and the regions of the country.
Under the wise leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan continues to implement the large-scale State Program “Saglyk”, developed under the guidance of Hero-Arkadag, aimed at strengthening the nation’s public health infrastructure and improving the quality of medical services.
