President Prabowo Receives Praise from US President Trump at Gaza Peace Summit

Jakarta, October 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received direct commendation from United States President Donald Trump for his contributions to peacebuilding efforts in the Middle East during the Gaza Peace Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday.

During a press conference following the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement, President Trump expressed his appreciation to President Prabowo and other heads of state attending the high-level summit.

“Also with us is President Prabowo, a very incredible man from Indonesia,” Trump remarked, turning to acknowledge the Indonesian leader and inviting him to approach the podium. The two presidents shook hands and exchanged greetings, reflecting mutual respect and cordiality.

President Trump further praised Indonesia under Prabowo’s leadership, describing it as a large and influential nation capable of achieving remarkable progress. “It is great to have you,” he added.

The friendly rapport between the two leaders was evident throughout the summit, where Trump served as co-chair. Dressed in a grey suit, President Prabowo was seen engaging in conversation and posing for official photographs with the US President.

During the group photo session, President Prabowo stood in the front row alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and United Arab Emirates Vice President Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, symbolizing the solidarity and shared commitment of world leaders to advancing peace in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine.

Following the photo session, President Prabowo joined other leaders in the main hall to witness the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement by President Donald Trump, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

President Prabowo’s presence at the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit reaffirmed Indonesia’s longstanding commitment to promoting conflict resolution and humanitarian efforts on the global stage.
