Serdar Berdimuhamedov Meets Russian Deputy PM to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Ashgabat, October 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Monday received Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin for talks focused on enhancing the long-standing strategic partnership between the two nations.

At the outset, Mr. Khusnullin conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to President Berdimuhamedov and to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag. He expressed admiration for Turkmenistan’s notable achievements in socio-economic development as well as its rich cultural heritage.

Welcoming the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, President Berdimuhamedov extended his sincere greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the Russian Federation. He underlined the significance of Mr. Khusnullin’s visit in maintaining and advancing the regular intergovernmental dialogue between Turkmenistan and Russia.

The Turkmen leader also wished the Russian delegation success in holding the next session of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, expressing confidence that the results of the meeting would further energize mutually beneficial bilateral relations.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia, which is based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and equality.

It was noted that Turkmen-Russian cooperation continues to develop effectively across various spheres, including through constructive engagement in international and regional organizations such as the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The two sides also emphasized the growing importance of collaboration within the framework of the “Central Asia–Russia” dialogue.

Discussions also covered trade and economic relations, as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation, highlighting the broad scope of partnership between the two countries.

Concluding the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reaffirmed their mutual readiness to further deepen friendly interstate relations and exchanged best wishes for continued progress and prosperity in both nations.
