Bucharest, October 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Between October 21 and 25, Bucharest will host the Climate Change Summit (CCS) 2025, the most significant regional event dedicated to climate action in Central and Eastern Europe. The main event will take place on October 21 at the Palace of Parliament, gathering international leaders, decision-makers, and sustainability experts to discuss practical solutions for the planet’s environmental challenges.
The Climate Change Summit Week (CCS Week) will include over 25 events across Bucharest and four other cities in Romania, Serbia, and North Macedonia, featuring workshops, debates, educational sessions, and community engagements to connect global climate themes with local realities.
Global Experts Lead the Dialogue on Sustainability
More than 50 distinguished speakers will participate in this year’s summit, including:
- Louis de Jaeger, eco-entrepreneur and advocate of regenerative agriculture, known for transforming sustainable ideas into practical environmental solutions;
- Jan Schüßler, Director of International Account Management at ClimatePartner, who advises European companies on carbon emission reduction and net-zero strategies;
- Hanna Haveri, neurologist and environmental advocate, highlighting the link between brain health, lifestyle, and ecological balance;
- Jaime Ruiz Huescar, Co-founder of Cities Forum and expert in Smart City initiatives, currently leading e-mobility projects in Murcia, Spain;
- Annela Anger-Kraavi, Executive Director of the Cambridge Trust for New Thinking in Economics, recognized for advancing international climate policy and fostering cooperation between science and governance.
They will be joined by global thought leaders from science, business, and public policy to explore topics such as climate finance, energy transition, biodiversity, regenerative agriculture, cities of the future, and climate justice.
Business and Innovation at the Core of CCS 2025
Beyond discussions, the summit will create B2B opportunities for companies, investors, and policymakers to accelerate the green transition through partnerships, innovation, and sustainable investment models. A dedicated event app will enable participants to network, schedule meetings, and engage in discussions both in-person and online.
Exploring Science, Urban Transformation, and Leadership
The Summit will also unveil the “State of the Climate 2025” report, offering a comprehensive analysis of climate impacts in Romania. A special Smart Cities & Democracy Day will focus on urban sustainability, digital governance, and eco-friendly mobility.
Over 60% of the attendees are expected to be C-level executives, government officials, and institutional leaders, participating in sessions addressing ESG governance, net-zero strategies, and sustainable leadership.
CCS Awards: Recognizing Innovation and Youth Engagement
The CCS Awards Ceremony on October 21 will honor innovation and leadership in sustainability, with a total prize of €15,000 awarded to nine finalist projects offering practical green solutions for the region’s sustainable future.
A Unique Experience at the Palace of Parliament
Participants will have access to coworking spaces, networking lounges, and a specially designed indoor garden inside the Palace of Parliament — a green oasis intended for informal discussions and collaboration.
