Amman, October 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: On the sidelines of the Aqaba Process Summit on West Africa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev met with Antonio Tajani, Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic, the press service of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Minister Kosherbayev emphasized that Kazakhstan places great importance on its long-standing relations with Italy, describing it as a reliable partner in Europe. Both sides highlighted the need to further expand cooperation across a wide range of sectors, including energy, green technologies, mechanical engineering, the agro-industrial complex, education and science, and infrastructure development.
Minister Tajani reaffirmed Italy’s readiness to strengthen trade, economic, and investment cooperation with Kazakhstan, noting the growing potential for mutually beneficial projects.
The meeting underscored that Italy remains one of Kazakhstan’s key strategic partners within the European Union and its largest trade and economic partner among Southern European nations, with bilateral trade volume reaching $20 billion in 2024. Kazakhstan, in turn, continues to be an important partner for Italy in Central Asia, offering substantial energy resources and investment opportunities.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a constructive dialogue and intensifying joint efforts aimed at further consolidating the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy.
