Türkmennebit and PETRONAS Discuss Expansion of Energy Cooperation in Ashgabat

Ashgabat, October 22, 2025 — The Europe Today: On October 21, 2025, the Chairman of the State Concern “Türkmennebit,” G. Agajanov, held a meeting with a delegation from the Malaysian company PETRONAS, which arrived in Ashgabat to participate in a series of business negotiations coinciding with the Turkmenistan International Energy Exhibition.

The PETRONAS delegation included Deputy Vice President Mohd Jukris Abdul Wahab, Vice President Mohd Redhani Abdul Rahman, General Director of PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd Ismadi bin Ismail, Director of Strategy and Commercial Operations Azahari Mohd Shuid, and company representative Albert Mehdiyev.

During the discussions, the two sides reviewed the current state and future prospects of their joint projects in the oil and gas sector. Particular attention was given to enhancing the efficiency of hydrocarbon production, introducing advanced technological solutions, and expanding investment cooperation.

Chairman G. Agajanov commended the long-standing and productive collaboration between Türkmennebit and PETRONAS, emphasizing that their partnership serves as a model of successful international cooperation in Turkmenistan’s energy industry. He also expressed confidence that the relationship would continue to strengthen, contributing to the sustainable development of Turkmenistan’s energy sector.

The meeting reaffirmed both parties’ commitment to deepening strategic cooperation and advancing mutually beneficial projects that support Turkmenistan’s goals for innovation and economic diversification in the energy field.
