Opening Remarks by Dr. Rashid Hameed

Excellency Atadjan Molamov the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Excellencies, distinguished delegates, ladies and gentlemen,

It is a great honor and privilege to extend my heartfelt greetings to all participants gathered here for this significant Roundtable Conference dedicated to celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, held under the inspiring theme of the Year of Peace and Trust 2025.

At the very outset, I wish to express my deepest appreciation to the Government of Turkmenistan for its visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the principles of peace, neutrality, and constructive international cooperation. Turkmenistan’s model of neutrality stands today as a shining example of how a nation, through wisdom and foresight, can contribute meaningfully to regional stability and global harmony.

We are especially honored to convey our profound respect to His Excellency Qurbanquly Berdimuhamedov, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, whose statesmanship, wisdom, and dedication have guided Turkmenistan toward a path of sustainable development, cultural renaissance, and active engagement in promoting dialogue and mutual respect among nations.

Likewise, we extend our sincere appreciation to His Excellency Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan, for his dynamic leadership, forward-looking policies, and steadfast commitment to carrying forward the noble vision of peace and neutrality. His continued efforts to enhance Turkmenistan’s role in international diplomacy and sustainable development are truly commendable and widely respected across the global community.

Under their enlightened vision, Turkmenistan has continued to strengthen its role as a bridge of friendship and cooperation, turning neutrality into a dynamic force for diplomacy, human solidarity, and global trust. The declaration of 2025 as the Year of Peace and Trust further reflects Turkmenistan’s enduring commitment to advancing the noble ideals of the United Nations Charter and fostering a more inclusive, secure, and prosperous world for all.

As we commemorate this historic milestone, let us reaffirm our shared commitment to uphold the spirit of neutrality—not as a passive stance, but as an active principle for peace, understanding, and cooperation. May this conference serve as a meaningful platform for reflection, dialogue, and renewed partnership among nations, inspired by Turkmenistan’s shining example.

Thank you.
