IslamabadOctober 31, 2025 – The Europe Today: On October 29, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad hosted a meeting with a Pakistani delegation led by Senator Naseema Ehsan, Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Delegated Legislation, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation across key strategic sectors.

During the meeting, the Turkmen side delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the main priorities of the foreign policy of Neutral Turkmenistan, emphasizing the country’s energy potential and its growing role as a logistics hub at the crossroads of Eurasian transport routes.

In this context, special emphasis was placed on the outcomes of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), held in August 2025 in Awaza, which underscored Turkmenistan’s leadership in promoting connectivity and sustainable development for landlocked states.

The discussion also covered recent high-level engagements, including the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to Afghanistan, and the launch of the next phase of the TAPI gas pipeline—the Serhetabat–Herat section, known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly” (The White Road of Arkadag).

Both parties underlined the strategic significance of the TAPI gas pipeline and the TAP power transmission line, noting their vital role in meeting Pakistan’s growing energy needs and enhancing regional energy security. The relevance of these projects for Balochistan province was particularly emphasized, as the region requires greater access to natural gas and electricity to accelerate its socio-economic development.

The Pakistani delegation expressed appreciation for the detailed presentation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, trade, and transport.

Concluding the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to deepening the bilateral partnership and advancing joint projects in areas of shared strategic interest.
