JakartaNovember 02, 2025 – The Europe Today: South Korean President Lee Jae-myung praised Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for achieving an exceptional public satisfaction rate of about 80 percent during his first year in office, describing it as a reflection of strong public trust and effective governance.

During a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Gyeongju, South Korea, on Saturday, President Lee congratulated his Indonesian counterpart, noting that the figure demonstrated the success of Prabowo’s administration in ensuring stability and driving national growth.

“You have been working very well that public satisfaction crosses 80 percent, which is an exceptional number. I would like to congratulate you on this,” President Lee said.

Lee also expressed optimism about the future of South Korea–Indonesia relations, emphasizing that the two countries enjoy close cooperation in trade, investment, defense, and security.

“I hope this partnership will continue to grow,” he added.

President Prabowo thanked Lee for his remarks and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to deepening bilateral ties, highlighting South Korea as one of Indonesia’s key strategic partners in both economic and defense cooperation.

“Our countries have long enjoyed strong relations, and South Korea remains a key partner for us in economic cooperation. Both governments also maintain excellent collaboration in defense,” Prabowo stated.

Both leaders discussed advancing cooperation on the joint development of the KF-21 Boramae fighter jet, a flagship defense project between the two nations.

“I believe we will continue to discuss follow-up steps for the KF-21 project. The negotiations are ongoing and depend on economic factors, pricing, and financing schemes,” Prabowo noted.

Accompanying President Prabowo at the meeting were Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment of Indonesia and South Korea to enhancing strategic cooperation across multiple sectors and strengthening their longstanding partnership built on mutual trust and shared prosperity.
