Astana, November 04, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan has achieved a record-breaking harvest of legumes and oil-bearing plants this year, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov announced at a government meeting, according to media reports. The Minister highlighted a strategic shift in the country’s agriculture toward crop diversification and the increasing importance of legumes and oil-bearing crops.
Minister Saparov reported that a total of 27.1 million tons of grain was harvested from 16 million hectares, with an average yield of 17 centners per hectare, up from 16.2 centners per hectare last year. Of this, 20.3 million tons of wheat were collected from 12.2 million hectares.
Significantly, Kazakhstan recorded 1 million tons of legumes and 4.3 million tons of oilseeds for the first time, marking a historic milestone in the country’s agricultural production.
In addition to grains, Kazakhstan also harvested 4 million tons of barley, 2.9 million tons of potatoes, 3.8 million tons of vegetables, and 2.6 million tons of melons, reflecting the country’s broader agricultural growth and diversification efforts.
Minister Saparov emphasized that these achievements underscore Kazakhstan’s commitment to enhancing food security and strengthening the role of diverse crops in the national economy.
