Washington, D.C., November 08, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his working visit to the United States, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the “C5+1” Summit, reaffirming Turkmenistan’s commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and fostering sustainable development.
Upon arrival at the White House, President Berdimuhamedov signed the guest book in the Roosevelt Room before holding a bilateral meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump.
President Trump warmly welcomed the Turkmen leader and expressed appreciation for his participation in the C5+1 Summit. In turn, President Berdimuhamedov thanked the U.S. President for the invitation, noting that the platform provides valuable opportunities for enhancing cooperation across a wide range of fields.
He emphasized that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to expanding friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the United States, adding that the international community’s declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, initiated by Turkmenistan and supported by the U.S., reflects shared global values.
Both leaders expressed readiness to deepen intergovernmental cooperation in key areas, including energy, economy, and environmental protection.
Later, President Berdimuhamedov attended the “Central Asia–U.S.” high-level summit, chaired by President Donald Trump, with the participation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, President Sadyr Zhaparov of Kyrgyzstan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan.
In his address, President Berdimuhamedov thanked President Trump for hosting the event and highlighted the tangible achievements made since the establishment of the C5+1 format. He underlined Turkmenistan’s commitment to advancing cooperation in strategically significant sectors such as regional security, economic growth, energy, and the environment.
“The results of this summit will contribute to the further expansion of multilateral partnership between Central Asia and the United States,” the Turkmen leader stated, expressing confidence that the dialogue will help promote sustainable development across the region.
During the session, participants adopted two key documents — the Declaration of Intent on Economic Cooperation and the Declaration of Intent on Cultural Heritage — between the Governments of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and the United States of America.
Following the conclusion of his working visit, President Berdimuhamedov departed from Andrews International Airport in Washington, D.C., where he extended personal congratulations to Aksoltan Atayeva, Hero of Turkmenistan and the country’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, on her birthday, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers and warm wishes on behalf of National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag.
Aksoltan Atayeva expressed sincere gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their kind gesture, wishing the Head of State good health, long life, and continued success in his leadership.
Upon his return to Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was warmly welcomed by senior officials.
