Turkmen Scholar Highlights Regional Cooperation, Connectivity at Margalla Dialogue 2025 in Islamabad

IslamabadNovember 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: Begench Karayev, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, participated in the international conference “Margalla Dialogue 2025,” held on November 11–12, 2025, and organized by the Islamabad Institute of Policy Studies (IPRI).

Addressing participants, Karayev provided a detailed analysis of the key dimensions of regional cooperation and outlined Turkmenistan’s foreign policy priorities. He emphasized the country’s steadfast adherence to the principles of positive neutrality and its commitment to constructive international engagement.

Karayev highlighted Turkmenistan’s expanding role in promoting regional economic, energy, and transport connectivity, noting the country’s reputation as a reliable partner and a driving force behind major international initiatives. He underscored Turkmenistan’s proactive contributions to enhancing interregional integration through large-scale projects.

A significant part of his remarks focused on the dynamic and evolving cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan, which he described as strategically important. Karayev outlined progress in advancing flagship projects such as the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line, and other collaborative initiatives aimed at strengthening regional stability, boosting mutual trade, and deepening integration processes.

The participation of Turkmen scholars at the Margalla Dialogue 2025 reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to fostering dialogue, promoting peace, and supporting long-term regional development.
