Ashgabat, November 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on November 14 with Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Țoiu, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry announced.
During the talks, the two ministers exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of Turkmen–Romanian relations, expressing mutual interest in deepening cooperation across political, trade-economic, and humanitarian spheres. Both sides underlined the importance of maintaining regular dialogue between their foreign ministries to support the growing momentum of bilateral engagement.
The conversation also highlighted the constructive partnership between Turkmenistan and Romania within international and regional organisations, particularly the United Nations and the European Union, where the two countries cooperate on a range of shared priorities.
In addition, the ministers reviewed progress on preparations for the International Forum on Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held on December 12, 2025, in Ashgabat. They expressed confidence that the event would contribute to strengthening global dialogue and promoting the principles of peace, cooperation, and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue working together to further advance their friendly relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
