Baku, November 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: A scientific-practical conference titled “Restoration of the Territorial Integrity and Sovereignty of Azerbaijan: International Legal Aspects” was held on Tuesday, organized by the IMZA Social Development Support Public Union.
The event opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. A video presentation showcasing the activities of IMZA was also screened.
The conference brought together a diverse group of national and international experts. Key speakers included Khayyam Asgarov, Chairman of the IMZA Public Union; Birol Akgün, Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan; Members of Parliament Nigar Mammadova and Arzu Nagiyev; Hulusi Kılıç, former Turkish Ambassador and IMZA’s representative in Türkiye; and Professor Elchin Ahmadov from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan.
Joining online were several prominent foreign participants, including Muhammad Sohail, a Pakistani international law expert; Matthew Bryza, former U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan; and Jerome Lambert, Honorary Member of the French Parliament, along with other international specialists.
Speakers underscored that Azerbaijan’s recent programs and initiatives contribute significantly to strengthening state institutions, enhancing the national legal framework, and protecting citizens’ rights. They also highlighted the alignment of reforms in education, infrastructure, and the social sphere with international legal principles and human rights standards, noting these efforts as key elements in consolidating Azerbaijan’s restored territorial integrity and sovereignty.
