Baku, November 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: The International STEAM Azerbaijan Festival (SAF 2025) commenced at the Baku Expo Center with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education and the “STEAM Azerbaijan” project, marking the beginning of one of the country’s most prominent educational and technological events.
The opening ceremony featured a special video dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the SAF Festival, celebrating its growing impact on promoting science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics among youth.
In his address, Igrar Nazarov, head of the “STEAM Azerbaijan” project, highlighted the initiative’s extensive reach, noting that it now covers over 300,000 students across more than 400 schools. He also emphasized that 21 STEAM Centers are currently operating throughout Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, underscored the growing importance of the STEAM Azerbaijan project in shaping the country’s future educational landscape. He announced that from the next academic year, Garabagh University will introduce both subject-specific teacher training and STEAM education as an independent methodology and specialty. The minister also noted a significant increase in student participation in STEAM programs nationwide.
SAF 2025 has attracted thousands of students, mentors, and experts from more than 20 countries. Participants will compete in 18 categories, including robotics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, drone and satellite technologies, engineering, innovative projects, and art.
The International STEAM Azerbaijan Festival will continue until November 19, bringing together young innovators and global experts to showcase emerging technologies and creative solutions.
