Turkmenistan and Belarus Review Strategic Cooperation Ahead of Ashgabat Peace and Trust Forum

AshgabatNovember 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on Tuesday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, to review the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.

According to Turkmenistan’s Foreign Ministry, the two sides discussed key areas of partnership in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Both ministers underscored that consistent and constructive dialogue at the highest state level remains a defining factor in strengthening the Turkmen–Belarusian strategic partnership.

The parties highlighted the productive nature of cooperation within multilateral frameworks, including the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and other international platforms, noting that joint efforts continue to contribute to regional and global stability.

Meredov and Ryzhenkov also reviewed ongoing preparations for the International Forum of Peace and Trust, scheduled to take place on December 12 in Ashgabat. The ministers expressed confidence that the upcoming event will further expand opportunities for dialogue and reinforce the countries’ shared commitment to promoting peace, mutual understanding, and international cooperation.
