JakartaNovember 21, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism on Thursday officially launched the Indonesia Tourism Outlook 2025/2026, a strategic policy guide aimed at reinforcing the nation’s tourism direction amid global economic uncertainties and rapid industry transformations.

Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana stated that the publication is intended to provide shared insights and strategic alignment for Indonesia’s tourism development over the next two years.

The outlook was prepared in collaboration with the National Development Planning Ministry/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and Bank Indonesia, ensuring a data-driven approach and cross-sector coordination.

The publication offers a comprehensive assessment of domestic and international tourism trends, examining market dynamics, policy challenges, and emerging opportunities for destination development. It also evaluates the 2025 global tourism outlook, which remains affected by economic slowdowns, geopolitical tensions, climate change, and rapid technological transformation.

Minister Widiyanti emphasized that the outlook will guide policymakers and industry stakeholders in promoting high-quality, sustainable tourism practices aligned with Indonesia’s long-term development objectives.

Deputy Tourism Minister Ni Luh Puspa noted that while the outlook is comprehensive, it allows space for ongoing contributions to refine Indonesia’s tourism strategies. “I believe we will exceed expectations. With strong optimism, Indonesia can lead the tourism sector,” she remarked.

To further strengthen niche segments, the ministry also released the Wonderful Indonesia Gourmet Book, aimed at promoting culinary and gastronomic tourism and attracting visitors seeking authentic local cuisine.

The launch coincided with the Wonderful Indonesia Outlook 2025/2026 Forum, which focused on building shared understanding of quality and sustainable tourism as a driver of national economic growth. The forum adopted the theme “Quality Sustains Future”, highlighting the importance of clear strategic direction to ensure Indonesia’s tourism sector remains competitive and resilient.
