JohannesburgNovember 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka urged G20 members to build a fairer and more inclusive global partnership amid the rapid industrial transformation driven by artificial intelligence, stressing that the benefits derived from natural resources must return to the people.

Speaking at the third session of the G20 Summit in Johannesburg on Sunday, Gibran highlighted Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen domestic industry through downstream development.

“We build industry at home and invest in downstream transformation, and ensure our people benefit from their own natural wealth,” he said.

Gibran affirmed Indonesia’s openness to equitable cooperation, including fair investment, technology transfer and responsible governance of critical minerals. He emphasized that proactive leadership and collaborative efforts are needed to ensure the emerging industrial revolution uplifts all nations, “not only a few.”

He underscored the importance of global leadership in shaping a fairer future, adding that Indonesia stands ready to work with fellow G20 members to make the forum a bridge between innovation and inclusion, as well as progress and justice.

“Indonesia believes that the future must be built on justice: justice in how we govern new technologies, justice in how we use natural resources, and justice for our workers,” he stated.

The Vice President also expressed hope that the G20 would reinforce its commitment to a more inclusive and equitable global system.

The G20 Summit was held in Johannesburg from November 22 to 23 under South Africa’s presidency, carrying the theme “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability.”
